Hi all,
This is officially my first post @ Football Fever. (i somehow didnt like this name) :))))
Neways lets continue with the post/get.
World Cup/ Cup of Life/ La Copa de la Vida is just 2 days away and football enthusiasts(or shld i say the working football enthusiasts like me n my frenz) have already started making the plans for their weekends. Most of us are completely geared up & are ready for the action to begin. Ppl are buying new T.Vs, their fav teams jersey, booking their tickets @ local pubs to catch the action LIVE on the big screen,etc.....
Even women are into the action this time around, even they are cheering for their fav teams
in their Bustiers..... (read an article abt it recently)
Dont get excited boyz, those females are not in India.
Admist all this chaos there are 32 teams out there, who are under so much pressure to perform their Best @ the Biggest Platform. They all know that hopes of many ppl from all over the world is resting on their shoulders.My hope rests on the following teams.
The teams below stand the chance of creating history & making their country & countrymen proud.
1) Argentina
2) Italy
3) Portugal (I personally feel they shld win)
4) England (have an outside chance)
Lets see who wins in the end.
Am supporting all the other teams except for BRAZIL, coz i know there are hundreds/ thousands millions supporting them.
njoi,
Kurt

Dood I think Germany is missing from the list.
@Kurt,
Analysing your choices..
Portugal--I dont see them winning.Probably a second round exit..But with Ronaldo in good form and if Deco recrates his Euro magic, then a semi-final exit for them..
Italy -- They have constantly raised our expectations and always under-delevered in the recent years..But with the players they have, even a fool like me would be likely to ignore them :-)
Argentina -- I too have them but getting a feeling that they are going to be one of the big guns who will be silent in the biggest sporting extragavanza..
England -- Their best chance in years. And primarly, due to players like Terry,Lampard,Gerrard in the team...
@Asif,
Germany do have a chance. and they have the home advantage too..
So, lets keep our fingers crossed..

If you remember Portugal had reached the Euro Cup final.
HP you are talking abt England so much coz u have seen their game (ie. EPL consists of players frm England).
How can u say anything abt Italy & Argentina? We hardly get to see those ppl play.
Abt Germany, i feel they somehow lack the passion in them. I personally dont like their game. They play a very slow game.

@Kurt,
Well Dude, I am not discounting Italy and Argentina. Infact, I have Argentina in my favs list. But, going by their performances as a team in the past 2 world cuos, I felt they might have an early exit.
Abt Italy, I stand by my statement. And I think I have seen quite a bit of the Italian soccer to speak of them..
and abt Germany, under the new coach they have been really brilliant and they have shed their style of slow and defensive football for an aggressive one..
Watch out for them!!
Cheers,
HP
And abt Portugal, with an old Figo they frankly dont stand much of a chance..
But then, Figo is an old master of the game..On his given day, he is the King..
So, moi keeping my fingers crossed!!
Cheers,
HP

You say tht you have seen quite a bit of Italian soccer and you still make such a lame statement.
Dude they have a bunch of talented ppl in them, the only problem is tht they play as 11 best players & not as 1 good team. Once they start playing together they r unbeatable. I think you need to watch out for them.
Abt Germany - we'll wait n watch.
I know tht Portugal has no chance/close to no chance of winning, but personally i have a soft heart for them (not soft-corner, i wholeheartedly support them) :)))

@Futball fanatics
I am in no mood for the futball fever thingy, ma poor dad
(Rajnican't) is da only one interested in it.....
so newez i have gone thru the list n i find only one team winning.....
1.)Italy
:) reason being they're all good look greek gods there in that team!!! see that's all i can say coz i don really follow fuball :D
@Kurt,
Relax and read my statement about Italy again..
And now take a deep breath and see the hole that you have created for yourself and now, go and hide in it!!! :-)
I have said that Italy has gr8 players and only a fool would ignore their team!!
But going by their past performances as team, they would probably have an early exit. probabaly..Gotcha..
Cheers,
HP
@Matz,
One is allowed to follow futball for any reason :-)

Ok
But I dont see a first round exit for Italy.They have the arsenal to reach for the Gold.
But only Time will tell who wins the trophy.
# Mattu
Even Argentina has good looking lads. :))

Kurt
@Kurt,
I too don't see a first round exit for them and neither holding the trophy :-)

When is the Womens Football World Cup?
Just needed a reason to follow futball ;)
by d way i do follow futball but just the big games and the big names
not like you guys tracking down each and every game or knowing each and every players USP's and also their current or ex-GF's
Enthusiatic about the WC too, just not to feel out of league when someone talks about it, and contribute my -not so expert- opinions about it :)
My Fav team is Brazil because it not only has players to likes of Ronaldo, Roberto, Ronaldinho but they play as a unit or moreover should i say they play as a family
As you guys have chosen more than one team to support, i will be following suit
here it goes...
1)Brasil
2)Germany
3)Argentina
4)France
Hey Kurt why not a post on any of the matches??
HP u can try ur hand too..
@Asif,
